i honestly wished i had watched this before buying snowy escapes tbh. i'm 99.9% sure i wouldn't have gotten it (just based off of this review alone). I'm not much of a builder (tho i'm learning how to now) and i'm much more of a gameplay head, so this was pretty damn disappointing, to say the least. but i shall play the pack myself and see how i find it before making any final judgments on it. i'm just glad i bought it for 50% rather than full price because then i probably would've been majorly pissed lol.

If rockstar decided to make a simulator game to rival sims, EA would be crushed, out of business, because to EA its all about money than game expereince.

You can cheat to change your traits, but I agree lifestyles will add a new depth to the game.

you can also change your sims utensil preference from forks to different kinds of chopsticks! and there's now a respectful introduction in addition to the others which is a cool nod to japanese culture too (tho i'm not japanese so do take that with a grain of salt)

Your reviews are very humorous and at this point that's all we can do is just laugh that EA is still producing expansions that are half finished. We need a 10 minute video where Plumbella just goes off about everything she dislikes in The Sims 4 - honest and uncensored

Nobody take this the wrong way. I love Plumbella and her content and I know she means the best. I'm just commenting on EA as a company and how I personally wouldn't give them any benefit of the doubt/ cut them slack and how I'm just not as patient with gaming companies as she might be. Plumbella: "Maybe because they blew their budget on the other half of the pack". EA is a multi billion dollar company. If they truly cared about anything other than money they could have easily put more effort into that part of the pack. Lets get real, they don't. I understand wanting to have even a shred of hope because The Sims is a game franchise with so much potential but to me it just isn't worth giving them that benefit of the doubt. Paralives has videos of working features we've been wanting for decades now from The Sims and they are only a tiny dev team making their game off of patreon donations that range from $3 - $50 usd max. fitness and spa day packs being rendered useless makes me think how eco lifestyle rendered city living and university half useless by having apartments and bikes, which was ... half the reason to get the latter packs. I'm all for detailed packs with lots of stuff to do, but if EA is out of ideas, why'd they split stuff into smaller packs that they brought in later ones anyway? just my two cents

i am so happy to hear about sims taking off their shoes when they enter a house and the school uniforms!! I've been wanting uniforms for so long because it's relatable for me and this is the kind of thing the gives me the incentive to buy a pack because every pack is going to offer you something major and interesting but it's the small things that interweave themselves into ordinary gameplay that makes it feel real and adds more enjoyment to my game

Tbh... it's just still not it for me. They put the bar SO low, that we kinda like that. But it's just.. not it.

So in short: missed opportunities all over, immersion breaking mechanics, and new stuff rendering old packs useless. Sounds like a 10/10 for EA's standard...

I’ve been considering not paying for packs anymore (*insert ominous pipe organ music*) because it seemed like EA was putting so little effort in, and like they just didn’t care what the people who were passionate about the game thought about it. But I did buy this one, and I’m glad I did. Between this, the game changers making the builds, and the multi-stage skintone fix (where they thought they fixed it and then ACTUALLY fixed it because everybody yelled at them) it seems like they’re actually listening to what people want now, and I really appreciate that. I find the pack boring. No trains,rabbit hole ski lift,No convenience store, no opportunity to go to school,Boring food selections. Very dry unless you like building

I feel as if the sims needs to put more work into the gameplay and things that build imagination and the sims journey though life. Like I think we can we all agree toddlers and lifestyles and weather should have been in the base game.

The thing that left a bad taste in my mouth is when I calculated how,much money the game costs when,you consider expansions and game packs (except journey to baatu, that thing doesn't exists). Even without the stuff pack, the amount of money this games requires to be playable and,enjoyable is ridiculous. The most money I've put in a game was 139$ for a deluxe edition of Borderlands that included a DLC pass. So 100$ for the xeluxe game and 40$ for all DLC, its a lot, but its fair. For the Sims 4, for the same amount of money, I get base game, Seasons and maybe a stuff pack. And that is like 9% of all the add on that can be bought. 780$ CAD is what the whole Sims 4 experience costs. Without Baatu and without Snowy escape, those add-one weren't out when I calculated.

i wish the japanese neighborhood parts and the B&B/CAS items were a pack of it's own, be it a stuff pack for the furni or a full-blown neighborhood expansion type pack (with apartments! PLEASE! GIVE APARTMENTS MORE LOOOOOVE). I'm not super interested in the skiing or vacation part of this pack at ALL and would love to just have the Japanese part. Call me a weeb or whatever but i don't really like any of the vacation-type packs (outdoor retreat, the jungle one, etc.) Though I think that's a very small niche of people who agree with me on not liking the vacation-type packs. I may still buy it nonetheless and pretend I do not see the skiing/snowboarding/rentals/etc. (Or wait for a mod that lets all lots be residential without the rental situation)

Some toddlers have SUPER long hair cause they were born with a lot of hair. its more common then you think!

My biggest problem with this pack is the same one I've had with alot of other expansions in that they don't add much outside of themselves... like the biggest thing in this was maybe lifestyles but that really just should've been in the patch... to me an expansion should really impact the game and every aspect of it not just when you happen to be in that world... like seasons is great because of gameplay and weather changing every world, I love get together because of its versatile build buy like I use it's dozens of collums in literally every build, cats and dogs adds pets which is just an automatic win, even get to work even though it's not the best adds careers you can use everywhere... Like island living you're really only gonna use for the world, get famous has a good build style but it's not versatile and you're not gonna have celebrities unless you're specifically trying to use the pack, eco has some somewhat useable build buy but is mostly just a one sided political agenda, and this pack to me just feels like what island living would have been if it's gameplay had actually existed... I have very few problems with the pack itself I just generally don't like expansions that don't expand the game are only expansions because they're gamepacks with more features...

add one thing at the 20:10 part. replace all the empty shells whit just plain fondation so you know mark that that space is taken. if you remove a building completely and leave grass there it gives a feeling of space.

You know....as someone who grew up in a resort town, a town center that's totally dead unless it's a festival is actually pretty frickin realistic.

bhiking a part of that camping pack EA did way back? Everyone's forgotten about that, it wasn't a skill but it's not a new concept... Also sentiments feels like it should be basegame concept because it's giving more personality to the sims and I feel like most personality things should be base game unless it specifically ties into the pack (like having attraction as a part of late night in the sims 2). Don't get me wrong Snowy Escape looks like it will be one of the better expansion packs (for the sims 4), but that really isn't saying much. It feels like we're being spoon fed the same lacklustre half-baked content with the same overall problems again and again, just with a slightly different coat of paint. It's so exhausting that I can't even feel excited by the pack which I reckon will overall be good. Thank you for being one of the real ones that isn't afraid to call out shoddy content, it means a lot :)

There’s one big thing that annoys me about this pack even though I haven’t played it yet: lack of story progression. I know we’ve been asking for story progression but it’s so obviously missing with packs like this and here’s why: this is supposed to be a Japanese town but when the current sims grow old and die, they wouldn’t have had any children to continue their legacy and the game will repopulate the town with random townies. I hate this about Sulani as well. Once the sims native to Sulani die, they are replaced by non-natives and that frustrates me. It takes away the cultural element. The towns become a shell of what they once were. I want the people of Sulani to carry on their lives and get married and have Sulani babies! And I want the people in this Japan-inspired town to stay...Japan-inspired.

Now that rental lots are available for every world, it is necessary to include a cost for traveling. If it's free to go from Willow Creek to Sulani, what's the point in vacationing and renting? We need a fee for traveling, clothing, etc. As you say, bring in capitalism!

Finally! So I can make my sims go to sulani on holiday. Beach time
