@Skeptically Hopeful yeah that’s confusing to me. I actually didn’t know mixed occult’s were a thing but I don’t see why they shouldn’t be? If a mermaid and a spellcaster have a baby... it just makes sense. I wonder if it causes an issue with the occult/game specifically so they removed it?

Idk if it's just me but I feel like even neutral and especially cool tones don't look real?! I tried them once but neutral already looked unnatural to me (regardless of complexion). Idk it's less rose cool and more like straight up grey and blueish.

Is it just me or has the controls in CAS changed on the console? I can’t move the sim around anymore so I can’t look at the back of their outfit. I looked on the control panel and saw that the move curser label had disappeared.

What i've heard is that if the veins on your wrist appear green, you have a warm skin tone. If they appear blue/purple, you have a cool skin tone. If they appear colorless or match your skin colour, you have a neutral skin tone. Just thought you'd like to know x

it would be awesome if the sims could add to cas an update with like a massive overhaul of hair like the skin tone update also an option to choose hair texture within styles? so you pick a style and then choose straight, wavy, curly, kinky, braided or dreaded and with bangs and dye like the tips or roots or streaks also with eyes not my idea just putting it out there

The skins look REALLY good. The only unfortunate problem now is that the game is boring and can't keep my attention for longer than a couple of hours every few months.

Hey, so, I just bought the game. I have a Mac... but they game freezes as soon as I load the tutorial. Does Sims 4 just not work on Mac? 😭

I literally only want to make sims and houses but like, even when I click on the menu the WORDS don’t even load. It’s made me want to cry. 😂💀

I’m still not going to support the Sims 4 any more. I need like 1 or 2 more packs and that’s it. I feel so burned. I’m so tired of people like me being an after thought in a life simulator game. It took way too long for this to happen. After I buy my last packs I’m only supporting cc creators.

Is it just me or do the neutral and cool skintones just look death af? I mean honestly or is there something wrong with my setup or eyes? Tried to make new Sims since the update, but find it really hard to make them actually look alive with those ... it's like they are different hues of gray and all kinda vampirish ... especially in combination with the hair and eye colours .... Like help? 🙈

With the make-up update, you can make the Sims look as if their toddler just found their parents' make-up, begging the parent to let them do their make-up and basically using EVERYTHING xD If only it would be a gameplay feature to give another Sim a make-over... One can wish :D

@Stacey M Yes it does. Its a struggle. And a lot of the styles which are longer do suffer from clipping issues as most CC creators and EA seem to think everyone is flat chested & wears their hair in front... so when you think you find something it's still not right. Most CC I find is great for complex styles, they left the "plain" ones.

@Alexa Faie that sounds nice. They have my waves down cause I have wavy hair. But not the length. I found plaits the length of mine by a CC creator but not any hair down styles. If that makes sense

I'd like hip length straight ponytail. None of the options are currently long enough or fine enough for my hair. At least my simself gets volume to their hair I guess....

omg on top of the skin fix, I sent my Sim dog out on a "hunt" and the camera followed him the whole way and he caught something and omg it was so exciting and then I sent my Sim to get him and he walked to the park and got the dog and walked back with no loading screen and that was so cool. Did that used to happen or is that new?

Yeah, the whole "there's no way to save a custom skintone created by mixing genetics" is fairly annoying -- hopefully they will change that. And I'm not sure why the makeup sliders are kind of "oh, you can do this here, but not that there." But it does look like a good update! ...I don't appreciate it coming early and SURPRISING me, thus making sure I won't be able to play my main save file until I can see how my CC and the few mods I use have fared, but that's my own dumb fault for not taking off automatic updates.

It’s definitely a step forward and along with this video, deli’s video points out the same flaws like blush and whatnot. The most out there issue with the skin tone update is the broken ass genetics, which deli also tested in cas and even in game. :(

Only thing I wish with the sliders is it would be better if the color changes on the sim when you are moving it and not after 😐 it feels so janky when you have to stop to check the color.

I'm so happy about this, not just for darker skin colors! but for myself as a white girl too. Being a naturally ghost pale you're only left with the palest swatch with a green yellow tint, which looks all kinds of unatural and just plain horrible, so this was very welcome for me too

Released it early with broken genetics, it broke CC skins completely, and still has a few ugly skins. EA always 1 step forward 2 steps back. It seems like they completely ignored the actual gameplay and yet again are only focusing on the looks. Why, when I have 2 cool toned sims, one very dark and one light, is it autoslotting to lighter skintones when generating offspring. Hate this game but I've spent $600 so I literally have to play it.

As a "pale as the wall" person I really appreciate, that I do not have to be light yellow anymore if I want the lightest skin tone. Even tho I think the warm, neutral, and cold undertones are not perfect yet (cold looks kinda purple), it a really big improvement and I went into CAS and edited all my Sims I created.

I’d love to see EA expand a bit on skin with stuff like freckles, moles, birthmarks, small scars, etc. I think it’d be really cool to be able to give sims details like a small scar on their face like it’s from their childhood or something. Also I just wanna be able to accurately make a sim look like me complete with freckles that aren’t just on the upper body.
