Which gloves are best? Let’s find out! Brands tested: Ironclad, Mechanix, Carhartt, Amazon Basics, VGO, Endura, Milwaukee, Wells Lamont, and PVC dotted gloves. Gloves tested for puncture, abrasion resistance (wear), impact protection, cut resistance, and grip. I purchased all of the gloves tested and never accept sponsorships.

How about testing the pnut valves under the sink. Those damn things become impossible to turn without breaking, when they do turn, they rarely stop the water flow. Your test will be really hard to run because it takes a long time for the valve to age for failure... maybe gather old, used valves from a plumber buddy, i dunno.

Added value in amazon basics gloves is purchasing them supports slave labor and a human chain of suffering that extends all the way to the drivers pissing in bottles who deliver them.

Coil spring test device... BUA-HA-HA-HA!!! Just today my son told me that in wood shop, knives are now referred to as 'wood shop tools' so that nobody gets in trouble for having a knife in school. Using welding gloves for weed pulling and dealing with spiky citrus trees is a lifesaver. The thorns on my lemon tree get to 2-inches long but the worst are the small, hard to notice ones that you squeeze not knowing they are there. They are obviously bulky and thick so I would limit their use but I recommend using them for situations like I described.

I love your channel, it may be one of the most useful channels on YouTube. Everything about this video is perfect. EXCEPT Why are you cramming that Metric shit down our throats? What the Hell is wrong with you? Many years ago Chrysler, Ford and General Motors took our beloved bolts and nuts away from us and every mechanic in America had to buy metric tools so that the European market wouldn't be inconvenienced. Before that they began to measure our engine displacement in liters instead of cubic inches. We said What the Hell is a freakin liter? So then they put our pop in 2 liter jugs and said that is what a liter looks like. Then they changed our tire sizes to metric. Back in the 70's Chevy trucks had the gas filler on the passenger side, WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT ABOUT? Well it was for people that drive on the other side of the road, of course. And now I come here and you are going to measure a dent in a stick in MILLIMETERS? What in the Hell is wrong with your brain? Especially at a time when China is doing all this crap. It is time for more AMERICAN PATRIOTISM!!! Not more foreign brainwashing. I would certainly like to hear your answer. The rest of you give me a thumbs up if you agree with me, if not then give me a thumbs down. Art

In the warmer part of season, I like to combine a UHMWPE inner glove with a good quality leather glove on the outside. In the cooler seasons, a kevlar inner glove and good quality leather glove on the outside works better. The leather provides puncture resistance, and the Kevlar and especially UHMWPE are very cut and abrasion resistant. What's nice about highly oriented UHMWPE material is that it is very thermally conductive--comparable to some metals! It really does help to keep things a bit cooler while wearing two layers. Kevlar is fairly low thermally conductive, and has an interesting property that when the fibers are exposed to water/moisture, they actually shrink a bit rather than swell up like a lot of other fibers. That's part of the reason why cotton is said to "kill" in the winter when it gets wet. When cotton gets wet, the fibers swell up and you lose the space between which was trapping the air and providing the huge majority of insulation (the stilled air). It also takes a long time to dry compared to most other materials. With kevlar, it might actually slightly increase the insulation in that regard (though the water itself would be conducting away heat energy anyways if wet enough).

Most of these brands offer gloves at a variety of cut levels and thickness, so consider that over brand. But this video does make a strong argument for goat skin and kevlar for different reasons.

I was pulling a loose piece of tile out from under trim and my grip slipped and cut right through my mechanix mpact gloves. Saved my finger a lot more damage than it would have gotten. We really need some input on comfort, dexterity and tactility on this. It's gonna be a little subjective, but those are extremely important properties for work gloves. Doesn't really matter how great their protection is, if they're severely lacking in any combination of those 3 areas, we all know what's gonna happen.

One other thing about gloves is user feel and dexterity, I keep a couple pairs of the cotton ones with dots or some with criss cross pvc or some sticky material for carrying heavy doors that are hand finished and very slippery. Not concerned about abrasion, animal traps or thorns. Different product different job. Good work on these videos, maybe this opens up a chance for another one.

I've always wondered if the various different types of stranded wire connectors and crimps have some that are better. Esp now with the new heat shrink models that vary wildly in cost. Would be great to see a comparison there. Huge differences in time to install, some more finicky to install properly than others and big swings in price. Sounds like a job for Project Farm.

The Wells Lamont leather gloves that I have I can tell you for 100% fact that they are probably the softest gloves that have ever touched my skin as far as the exterior goes. I have the same style Milwaukee leather gloves too. I also have the more basic all leather Milwaukee gloves too. Those Wells Lamont are like silk though! You should definitely test leather gloves like full leather. I wish you had done the Honeywell Rig Dog safety gloves. I was thinking about buying some a few years back I got into panelizing steel stud walls for hotels 2 years ago. They claim to be the best of the best of the best climbing to have the best grip, impact resistance, breathability, as well as cut and abrasion resistance on the market. I just didn't want to spend the kind of money that they're asking for those gloves without actually seeing them and without knowing something about them other than what Honeywell claims.

@Project Farm OMG OMG OMG!!! I got recognized and replied to by a famous celebrity!!! Thank you man I really appreciate it that made my day I never get recognized in the comment section! You are even more epic and awesome then I previously imagined because you actually value your fan base and listen to them! Believe it or not I actually have a ton of great ideas for your show even ideas on how to test things. Like for instance I think a good way to test your drills would be to have it hanging from a rope or string of some sort with a drill bit and just let only the weight of the drill be the driving force of it I'm sure if you were secure the handle and keep it from twisting from the torque and just let the weight of the drill itself be what pushes the bit into whatever material I honestly feel like that would be a much better gauge of its power because there's always going to be slight variations on how hard a person pushes down whether or not they have the drill closer to their body or further away even just small minute differences like that. Sometimes I have really great original ideas and other times I'm even better when it comes to bouncing ideas off of me and vice versa. People like to call me the poor man's Tony Stark because I always come up with some insane little ideas and ways to make things work with either very limited amount of material that I have to work with or just and off the wall way to do something because that's the only way it'll work in the first place.
