Slipknot was formed in 1995 in Des Moines, Iowa by Shaun Crahan, Paul Gray and Joey Jordison. The band went through several line up changes before Corey Taylor became their lead singer and over the years Slipknot has released iconic songs such as Left Behind, Duality, Snuff, Vermillion, Wait and Bleed, Before I forget and Psychosocial. The band's latest album We Are Not Your Kind is one of their most successful to date.

I saw Slipknot with System of a Down and Mudvayne in 2001 at the Pledge of Allegiance Tour. I was 17 and just got my drivers license the day before. I remember leaving that show thinking I'll never experience anything that awesome ever again. They got me obsessed with going to metal shows... I'm not into them anymore really but their first 2 albums are all-time favorite albums of mine

I feel like Slipknot can go on even when the founding members (Corey, Shawn, etc) will retire. Just like what they did with Joey, Chris and Paul. Replace the old members with new ones and new masks. Slipknot will definitely live forever.

I can't understand the people who finds them and this kind of music scary and disgusting. This music means so much things in its lyrics and melodies. It shows sadness, anger, philosophic means and a lot of emotions. I can't believe that people says it's just about noise and violence. Metal music is better than your stinky rap music. At least, it isn't just talking about money drugs and sex without any art.

A decent but very patchy documentary. Seems to gloss over or mix up the order of how things happened. I've been a slipknot maggot since 2007.and in these 13 years I have bought several magazines, read interviews bought and watched all slipknot own documentaries. To be fair. There is alot to the band and very hand to cover in 27 minutes. But it wasn't to most coherent 27 minutes I've seen of slipknot. Decent but misses the mark. 6/10

@Rebecca Mcguire well I know its why he wrote the song. If everyone expects their newer material to be just like they were in '99 , don't expect it to happen. Or stop listening to them, plain & simple. I hate people who complain, if you can do a better job contact Corey or Shawn and get in their studio to prove me wrong🙄🤦‍♂️

Got it back a year later after how ridiculous she realised she was being.... But that's how I remember. All's you have to do is google... "Slipknot columbine" and plenty of things will pop up with their name right next to Mansons. Obviously they didn't get blamed as much as manson...... But still.

@Lets get to 200,000 subscribers doing nothingSorry in advance for the long comment.... I hope you can find that link. I was really dialed into that incident back then and I honestly never remember hearing Slipknot being mentioned. I was actually a cop and juvenile investigator and was assigned to a couple of high schools and behavioral problem schools for 4 yrs. At one point, during the various training seminars and conventions I attended, ICP and the hatchet man logo was brought up - not as a "cause" for violence, but just something to be aware of. It was funny because I was already LONG aware of ICP and actually liked some of their music (check out "To Catch a Predator" if you haven't already.) Anyway, there was a stretch there where every shithead kid I dealt with in the schools over some very serious felony level shit was massively into ICP and sported the hatchet man logo on everything. This included girls too. If you were clueless to juggalo culture, you'd think they were a gang. Evidently the FBI thought so, because they supposedly attempted to stupidly classify juggalos as an organized gang in the US a few years back. I guess that's why they are known as the Federal Bureau of Incompetence. These bureaucratic dipshits still consider ANTIFA to be an ideology. Problem is that an ideology doesn't assault and murder police and citizens nor does it cause buildings to spontaneously combust. Yes, I didn't even bother to go back further on the history of school shootings because I think I made my point. Nowadays, people won't even research something because they're fucking intellectually lazy, it doesn't fit their narrative, or they're afraid of what they're gonna find. Nobody even talks about the University of Texas tower sniper shootings in the mid 60s. That was a bad one both in terms of death numbers, but also psychologically because a sniper was involved. Another terrorizing one occurred in the 80s when some douche opened fire in a schoolyard full of kids in Stockton, CA. Whenever there's a school shooting, people immediately say the problems can be resolved immediately with strict gun control laws. However, these same people have no clue that the deadliest school mass murder in US history wasn't even accomplished with a gun. In 1927 in Michigan, some nut detonated bombs in a school, which killed 38 elementary kids and 6 adults. I've studied school violence in master's coursework and have been to countless law enforcement school safety and shooting courses over the years. Columbine changed everything for US policing on a national scale. Before Columbine, police tactics dictated that you maintain a secure perimeter and keep the suspect contained until the SWAT/tactical teams arrive. The problem with Columbine was that their law enforcement jurisdiction agency was the Jefferson County, CO Sheriff's Office. JCSO is responsible for covering nearly 800 square miles within the county and didn't have a dedicated, full-time SWAT team like (LAPD or NYPD). The overwhelming number of US LE agencies don't either. Long story short is that JCSO's SWAT team had to respond from all over the county and it obviously took a while. During that time delay, people died who likely could have been saved. Now all LE officers are taught SWAT tactics. Multiple small elements of officers are sent in ASAP and are taught to ignore all victims until the shooter is neutralized. Once that occurs, victims are then located and evacuated. The tactics work in any environment (office, church, mall movie theater) where there's an active shooter. When people are so terrified of another school shooting happening in the US, it boggles my mind that people are actually calling for defunding or dismantling police departments. This would likely entail pulling dedicated police officers who already work inside public schools all across the country. They ward off so many problems before they start. The US Secret Service and DOJ conducted a school shooting profile study and basically found there isn't a standard profile for a school shooter. They just issued potential warning signs. Personally, I don't recall any incident that didn't include psychiatric problems. I also wonder how much psychotropic medications play a role on altering the brain chemistry on teenagers whose brains aren't even fully developed yet. BTW, I just remembered another school shooting/blame the music incident that happened in my state. A Native American kid shot and killed several people after murdering his grandfather, a tribal police officer. The kid stole his father's gun, Kevlar vest, and police vehicle and headed to school. In the aftermath, horror core rapper Mars was brought up because the kid was a huge fan and talked frequently about a Mars suicide. What's fucked up is that after that horrible incident, Mars released an album called "School House Glock," which included a track "Shooting Spree." I'm for free speech, but that's pretty fucked up. You should see the album cover... 😱

@YouTube Algorithmic Board of Safety I also know about school shootings that happened even back in the 1800s and 1700s..... Iowa is still my favourite album to this day. I totally understand a lot of people don't like this style of music, but this record just hits so close to home for so many of us. It was the amalgamation of all the hate and despair and pain and unacceptance that people felt, brought into this form that you could relate to on a deeper level, because you were never able to express it yourself. Legendary. I still listen to it frequently and it never ceases to amaze me how well it was produced and how "current" it feels. Just my $0.02.

I still don't understand the $40,000 price tag for the MFKR album. My first band recorded our first demo of 6 tracks in 2005, and it cost us a whopping $800. And the sound quality was actually not bad at all for the time. I mean, we SUCKED as musicians in comparison to today, but the sound quality of our shitty music was legit. I can't imagine paying that price. Hell, even the printing of the EP's cost us like $500 to print 200 copies. I know they did that album almost 10 years prior, but still. We spend a grand total of $1,300. If we had gotten 1,000 copies printed it would have cost us $1,200 for printing. So STILL our price is so incredibly cheaper than what they got. Damn, they got ripped off horribly. And I love MFKR...
