I dunno, Sims 3 was a little boring for me, as I played on the pS3. I only had the one world and the same group of sims to interact with, and i didn't get packs to spice it up. I did get the Cats & Dogs game, but it was separate and the ps3 version is LAGGY as HELL, so it was unplayable for me. Sims 4 is so much more fun for me, because on the ps4 the packs are dlc and I can go where I want and do what i want so theres more options for me. Sure, it's also super laggy, but at this point i feel like it's a dream to play without any lag in the Sims. -Sarah, someone who has only ever played sims 3 and 4 on console.

hopefully I'm not stealing anyone's idea, but i think it would work a lot better if you merged the sims 3 open world stuff for specific worlds with the sims 4 travel-between-worlds ability, except that, to go/visit a different world, your sims would have to pay 500 simoleons or something to travel to that world, so it feels like more of an event to travel between worlds. So you could walk around anywhere you please in the world you live in, but could also travel if you really wanted to.

I wonder sometimes if EA thinks they have to release the bare minimum with their games because they understand the modding community and know just how many people use it. The modding community can\will do what they please but that doesn't excuse a lack of content from the actual devs. Thank God for modders because they're willing to do FOR FREE what EA won't even put the effort in to do for money. I don't know if they have a full grasp on how we'd react to a GOOD, well-rounded, content filled (& not quantity for the sake of it) quality pack? Hell take suggestions (not ideas) from modders! I'm sure they'd LOVE to help EA design something that'd actually be worth $40. That being said, I don't want Modders to stop doing what they're doing ever. You guys are awesome and show such a level of dedication to the game that it's mind blowing. I also don't want EA to snatch up your ideas. I meant for them to ask you for suggestions\work together on something for a pack or two. They're still your ideas and EA has to respect that. :)

The lot placement lock is really killing me. I can't choose what size lot I want or how I want it to be placed. I'm looking at the one world with all empty lots and just...hating the layout. 😅 I have a love/hate relationship with it because I didn't have a computer for Sims 3, and Sims 4 works fine on my laptop, so like I can't complain too much. But I'm missing being able to go out on the town, and I got the apartments but it seems really buggy, and not very fun to play when the neighbors are super loud and I can't shut them up so my Sim suffers. I don't know, maybe it is just the nostalgia for Sims 2, but I liked a lot of that stuff more, even though Sims 4 functions better in many aspects. My dog was almost taken away when it said it had no food but had a full pet bowl. I had to get my Sim to run back home and call it to eat. Like, really? You couldn't give me a saving grace to just tell the dog to eat, or see its needs and have the Sim intervene beforehand? I have to wait for it to think something and make sure I'm watching it? Not a huge fan of that.

ea just skipped out on improving the basegame really. like you have to have a good foundation to make a good house yk

The lack of lots in each world drives me nuts. Four in Magnolia Promenade? Ya kiddin' me?! I never use that world because you can't really live there. And I love the lots in Snowy, but they didn't leave space for players to build w/o bulldozing. It's maddening!

TL; DR: The Sims 2 is still the best sims game I liked Sims 3, but BLOODY HELL ARE FUCKING UGLY!!! At least you can make good looking people in Sims 4

The travel of sims between worlds is not a bad thing, but that sims are *always* able to be found anywhere does break immersion. If there was some sort of percentage limitation per world to limit cross over with certain attributes increasingly the likelihood of seeing certain sims it'd work well. For example sims who are famous, entertainers, or have certain traits are more likely to show up in Del Sol Valley, or having wealthier sims more often appear in "luxury" worlds like the snowy escape world. Then the percentage chance to show up decreases unless sims work in the world (as vendors for example) Edit: Staying more than two days in sims worlds would be interesting if you had to pay to stay in a hotel and its rabbit holes. (you set times for them to rest and all)

What I hate about the no grocery stores is the fact that to enhance a meal your sim can use ingredients, but they have to grow the ingredient themselves. Like, my sim wants to make a great apple pie but she has to grow a whole tree beforehand. Just let me buy an apple, please.

Thank you for talking about customization, Plumbella. EA needs to get that. Each Simmer is different and I just love the customization in The Sims 3. I play in the Hogsmeade world created by an amazing CC creation with only four expansion packs: Season, Supernatural, Ambitions, World Adventures, and University and I am happy as a clam and never get bored because I can edit the world and form it and the neighborhood how I want.

This is my second time watching this but recently I was playing The Sims Pet Stories and I realized that restaurants were better in TS2. You get seated, order your food and it comes right to your table right away then you eat and chat; not stopping and eating completely and you pay and go. It was so much better back then.

Thank you for mentioning how bad Sims 4 runs... My laptop can run Sims3 with several packs and with no problem. But the Sims4 literally struggles to play or even load... Even without and CC.

I really do believe sims 4 could've had open world because if you look at it technology has come a long way and a lot of things are possible. So EA, you're telling me that with all these playstation games out here coming out with hyper realistic graphics and the game runs smoothly that you can't do the same thing? And it's not just playstation, but other games too that you can play on computer. Sorry excuses! Maybe the sims 3 would run better if EA just updated the game's processors and things. Lol, idek the technical terms for it. I forgot to mention that you can go shopping for clothes in the sims 3 it's just not required, it's more of a choice. It was introduced with the expansion pack Into The Future when you go to one of the shops there are mannequins you can buy outfits from. I also have a mod where it is a need for your sims to go grocery shopping because their fridge will be completely empty and you can't just buy ingredients from the fridge anymore. The other mod I have is an addition to shopping for clothes. It makes it so the clothing rack from ambitions will finally be modded to work as a functional clothing rack that you can buy clothes from. There is a store collection on thesims3.com so that you can have walk-in functional restaurants called "business as usual". If you want these mods just ask. Wait, one more thing, I also have a mod where you can make everything walk-in and you can completely ditch rabbit holes, but you have to learn how to use the mod correctly; it's called "Ultimate Careers". Again, sorry for the long comment, but a lot of people don't know that these things are possible in the sims 3 so I just want to share. And I know I said one more thing, but I just remembered that I have another mod that enhances the savvier seller collection that allows you to sell things close to how it was in the sims 2 open for business. Just ask if you have questions and I will give you more information.. If you read until this point then you must be interested so please reply! :)

I have also put a lot of thought too about which neighbourhood style I would prefer to see in Sims 5 and I think I reached a conclusion after watching your video. I quite like Sims 2 neighbourhoods with sub neighbourhoods but with a Sims 3 twist. Imagine having a standart Sims 3 open world neighbourhood but you played 10 generations in it and are sick to death of it. This is where sub neighbourhoods come into play. Of course they would be separated by a loading screen, but it's only logical. You either choose a preset sub neighbourhood, or make your own, then they act like the standart town but people from the main town can still visit lots and be around, similarly to the Sims 2. Just like in the Sims 2 you don't see Olive Spectre and Mortimer Goth having coffee. I hope it makes sense lol

I have memories of the Sims I played in Sims 1, 2 and 3. I remember them, the times I spent with them. But when I think about the Sims I played in Sims 4, no one comes to my mind cause they just lack of substance, they are so forgettable.

Totally agree i didnt really get into sims 4 till 2016 - 2017 either i kept playing sims 3 because when the base game game out i tried it and the limitations were shocking no pools , no toddlers it was just so bland i didnt get into it till parenthood but it took my a while i still played sims 3 till 2018 when Sims 3 stopped working

There's no need to talk about The Sims 4 anymore. It's been out for 6.5 years and it's not getting any better. Its core issues such as the lack of personality, broken AI, non-customizable worlds, etc. have not been fixed and will never be fixed. It is what it is. I have moved on. I'm playing other games and waiting for Paralives and maybe The Sims 5.

I agree 14:02. I think there's a difference between making important events, universities, etc. non-rabbit holes and adding restaurants, shops, and more minor rabbit holes around the world just to add more possibilities.

Totally agree about game packs. Pretty much all my favourite extra content has come from game packs, but it would have been so much better if they'd just been fleshed out into proper expansion packs.

I almost always end up playing just a single sim in Sims 4 bc without the open world I find it really frustrating to have sims doing things on different lots. Either that or I adopt a Sims 1 playstyle where my entire family never leaves their lot, like at all.

I would love an option where you can turn off all other sims but the ones you made and the option to create you own worker/workers look. So all that you see in the sims are your sims. Also why do pets need to be sick ALL the time! It’s depressing. That need to be fix. No homeless pets either. Why not an option for that?

i don't like the sims 4 style of worlds cause I think it gives ea a lot ability to be lazy or cut corners. In The Sims 3, since every world was it's own little thing they had to fill it with stuff to do. The get famous pack came with like 4 lots basically and that's the case because you can easily travel between world to fill your needs. Idk if this makes sense but yeah.

Just play Minecraft instead.

One of my many biggest beefs, is when your sims has to leave a lot and they walk a mile away to do so. It’ll literally takes them five minutes of my life just for them to leave a lot. I.E. the Pinnacle in Sol Valley. I cannot play those lots. It takes my sims 5 minutes to leave any of those lots. I just want them to leave. 😭

I hate not being able to place any lot size. I only like building large houses and there are hardly any large lots to use. So I am always having to start new games. Plus I miss having more lot size options. 😩

The pet autonomy thing is annoying like, I understand it's to make it more realistic since you can't control your pets...but bruh I can't control ANYONE irl! The point is that I'm playing god here!
