To be honest, I gave up on Sims 4 Q and A’s and community surveys. It doesn’t matter whether or not what the public demands, they always do a complete 180 or they limit down decisions o that they can manipulate the public to pick what *they* want. I’m so tired of Sims 4, like don’t get me wrong ai love the game but please EA, Maxis, ANYONE *fix it* and make it better than the other sims games not *worse*

I see a lot of people bashing like "Why didn't we get this in the basegame? They just want money!" and I just have to say a few things about this. First of all, inflation. Things cost more and more. For us players TS4 costs as much as TS3 but has less content, it's because TS3 came out 10 years ago. Probably they want to keep the price as it is, because higher prices would not make as many people to buy it, so they add less content to compensate. The developers need an income that works for what food and homes cost nowadays, not what they costed 10 years ago. Therefore they make more packs, with less content in each pack, to being able to keep the price as it is. You don't have to buy all the packs, buy those that you think you'll like. Also, the packs are on sale almost all the time, it a way for them to get more customers, so just wait for a sale instead of buying it right away, if you think it's too expensive. Second, CAS and build mode are completely different from earlier The Sims games. It probably took a lot of time for them to make it work, and they needed a salary when making it, so they had to cut out some things, and some of those things has been added later on in patches. Third, they already give us things for free via patches several times a year. For example the stair tool is something that haven't been in earlier The Sims games, and it was added to the basegame for free. The Holiday pack is also for free, and they update it with new content every year. Fourth, I sincerely think that a bunch of the things in the survey will be free updates (if enough people vote for it), for example story progression, emotions, long term desires, babies, heterochromia, body hair etc.

Finally someone that understands the development process, at least at a basic level. Rare to find someone that thinks rationally nowadays. Now, as you were saying, when any of the other Sims games came out they were actually all the same price as what you pay now for Sims 4 stuff.. To buy anything for Sims 3 or earlier though is absolutely cheap since they've been out for years. The other thing is if you look at the release date for packs, spending $40 for an expansion pack, $20 for a game pack, or $10 for a stuff pack is nothing as they come out. If you look at it now though as "Oh god that's a lot of money to drop..." of course you'll have issues with it.. you don't NEED all the packs. You can easily play with just the base game.. you can even add in packs to old saves. So you could easily start with the base game and expand out as you see fit. You also save money buying them now that they've been out since there's near constant sales and also bundles you can get. Your second part is pretty much spot on as well. CAS and build mode are completely different and needed time to become more accepted, fine tuned, etc. So they cut some stuff out like pools, toddlers, etc so they could get some kind of game out since it's been so long. They need some sort of income, and the game was done enough for a base. They did eventually add in pools and such as a free update, and they still constantly update things and add things to just the base game. Now as for the survey being like "fake" or just to act like they care and so on.. people have this mentality that every business is just out to attack them and take their money.. I really don't understand it. No business is out there purely wanting to irritate you.. that'd make literally no sense whatsoever. It takes years to develop a game.. even a counter on Sims 4 can take months to create since it's so many small pieces that all have to match and have multiple swatches.. People really need to realize these things for all games. Things take A LOT of time to create. They likely are nearing the end of development on whatever won their previous survey, which is why they're putting out another. So they can just roll out the update with everything from the previous survey and keep on rolling into new stuff to add. Also, people need to realize that what they voted for may or may not have won.. so if you don't see cars, as an example, that doesn't mean they didn't listen.. your vote just didn't win. I personally see no point in cars in a closed world... I don't want to buy my sim a car just for them to literally park it in the driveway or something and that's it.

If they would go with the "modern love and romance" but don't include proper poly relationships I'll get sincerely disappointed, and I almost never get disappointed when it comes to The Sims. I hate that they can't have several romantic relationships without drama, and I hate that the function to have poly relationships without any drama is called "player" (in Swedish it's even "Casanova" if I remember correctly, yuk) when you get to the top of the serial romantic ambition. It feels so old-fashioned. Of course not all sims should be poly all of a sudden, sometimes you want to have some drama, but I wish the possibility for poly relationships was there. If your sim can ask for being boyfriend/girlfriend there should also be an option like "Ask about having an open relationship" or something like that. Sims with the jealous trait shouldn't be able to have open relationships, but other sims should, imo.

I completely agree with you. Polyamorous relationships are becoming more and more common. People are starting to throw out this idea of like "one and done" as if you're supposed to find one mate and you're with them for life... human instinct doesn't even work that way. That's actually, by scientific fact, a societal norm thrown upon us. It'd be interesting to have sims that are say bisexual and have both a boyfriend and girlfriend. Maybe even married to them both at the same time. Even if they're straight or gay and have multiples of whatever they're into.. it could make for interesting dynamics. Especially when it comes to kids as well. Considering all of this is more "modern" thinking, hopefully that'd be the way they're going with that selection.. we'll have to wait and see.

As a Shetlander, I appreciate that you put Scottish Highlands as number one. It would honestly be so cool! It could be raining and windy every single day apart from one when it'd be sunny, and on the rainy and windy days the rain stops and starts at least five times a day, fooling you every single time into thinking the rain is finally stopping for the day... but it never does. it always comes back

PLEASE can we get an Asian or African inspired world??? The only worlds we have right now that are not based around Europe or mainland USA are Sulani and Selvadorada... and one of those is a vacation world 🤦‍♀️

I put hard NO to American style High School, I'm genuinely over how much Americanised this whole game is, where they try to act so all inclusive (I mean they only talk about inclusivity to get some more money outside the US or their normal demographic, but other than few items, we still have to wait to see anything like that in the game). Especially after what a garbage pack University was (I mean items, roomate system and servos are cool). 4:25 Also I don't feel like we should have more UK representation either. It's similar thing to US stuff and University, Get Together and in some capacity Cats and Dogs kinda already do that part. If we are going for highlands do ones from other country like never visites in the franchise eastern European or Asian ones. 4:30 I also put Greek Islands low - cause again, it is something we did see in the previous games. I would rather have some less popular close location instead, like Turkey (maybe city based on Istanbul), or Malta or Cyprus. 4:50 I feel like Sulani is still mostly American simulator, cause it could easily pass as Hawai or other islandic territories... 7:20 I put Body Hair, Prostethics and Heights, cause even premade 5 different heights would be enough - even if just for adults. It would give us something and wouldn't make their work worse. 8:45 You will burn in ell for putting Elders so low.

I may sound really stupid for saying this, but... I feel like there are 2 separate teams on the Sims team as a whole, and they're both working off the data from the same surveys. There's the team to upkeep Sims 4 while it's still the active game, and then there's the Sims 5 development team who are paying close attention to what we want next.

I play sims 4 on PS4.... worst purchase ever. I can’t add mods or anything other then paying for the packs ea makes. I find it weird that Minecraft can make free huge updates but ea has to make their packs cost the same amount or even more then the game. I am not made of money, my step father is on a fixed income from being a veteran. I have only been able to buy 5 packs. Why do I have to pay for a new game to get weather and temperatures in sims 4? But in Minecraft when they the stopped console edition they gave all of their player base who owned the console edition of the game a free bedrock edition since they are no longer updating console edition. Now they are working on a nether update which completely re designs the nether finally giving it biomes and the players pay nothing. I understand EA needing money to pay all the people working on the game but why not have a store like they did on sims 3.... or give stuff packs for free? They have become greedy like Bethesda. I wish I had the money to buy all the packs and stuff for sims 4 on PS4.

I REALLY hope Bands can make it into the game at some point! I know it's probably not everyones cup of tea, but I would love to see it! Music is a big part of my life so I always seem to end up with musical Sims. I just really like the progression involved with musical instruments in the Sims, how they get noticeably better the more they practice, they can write and perform a variety of different songs, can write thier *own* songs, and even sing and play your own songs with the City Living pack. It's kind of cool to go to a bar (as a celebrity) in the Sims and start singing your own songs. I currently have a super famous Jazz singer vampire character on the go lol (she's awesome...) I even like adding 'real-world' celebrities in to my world, so I can have someone like Ariana Grande performing at my kids birthday parties lol. If I could have actual bands perfoming??? Holy shit...... (I would TOTALLY make Iron Maiden lol) But I do agree, bands really should have been part of Get Famous, or even City Living, as that was the pack that added singing. However, if they brought out a 'Music Game Pack' that added stuff like drum kits and bass guitars, added a mechanic that allowed up to 4 sims to 'practice together', 'write song together' and 'perform song together', maybe even a new passive career that spilts off into 'Pop Star' or 'Rock Star', and the ability to play gigs at different venues in the game, I would be ALL OVER that shit!

One feature I'd love to see in the Sims 5 is the ability to have separate nicknames. For example, your Sims full name would appear on the family tree and certificates/paintings if you want it to, but sims would be listed as their nickname in the relationships tab. For example, your sim could be named Roberta at birth but maybe when they become a child or toddler your sims could nickname her 'Bobbie' and she'd carry that nickname through life while keeping Roberta on the family tree, it could even say "Roberta 'Bobbie' Lastname" or something. Maybe if a sim becomes friends with her you could have the option to "Call me by my nickname", maybe grandparents could remain calling her by her full name. With this, sims with long ancestry (I'm thinking legacy challenge) could have the same name as their great-grandparents,etc while still keeping their individual personality by using a nickname (but still legally be called that name). It's a small detail that wouldn't be too hard to implement but I think would be so nice.

Imagine traits over time. Your actions as a sim is broken down to what you do most and it gives you traits depending on what actions you take. That's amazing. Imagine a puberty thing for teens and this is where most of your traits are decided.

I think that sims 4 will be developed into "sims 5" because i feel like enough people are still buying it and packs and loyal sims 4 stans who've had it from the beginning are still interested. So it wont be a sims 5 per say but perhaps like, an expansion pack or a mega update

I think at this point sims 4 is dead and dev is just starting to realize it. I’ve been an enormous fan since sims 1 and sims 4 has been such an insane disappointment. Most days I get a sims craving, open the game and by the time it opens I think about the gameplay and just close it again. Even with mods it’s SO. BORING. Ive been playing sims 2 more. It’s so late in the game for them to be making huge changes that should’ve come with base. I feel like either these are opinions they’re gathering for sims 5 (which based on what they’ve released I have no interest in) or this is a cash grab bc they’ve seen how interested we’ve all been in the development of Paralives.
