correction: when you reach a certain level you can explore IN the falcon - as in your sim goes in it, you wait for like an hour, and your sim appears back again. its fuckin hopeless

i get that if you have never watched star wars the loading screens are crap but its prob sm to do with the old movies as they would have the really crappy screens so they prob wanted to imitate that as it was quite good in the films (it was good in the its so crap its good way)

They've been selling physical copies of Sims 4 + Starwars Expansion, in all the game shops near me. And they're usually placed near the star wars games rather than near the regular version of Sims 4. EA was definitely catering towards Starwars fans rather than Simmers.

You do know the screen fades are a nod to the movies when the were used. This pack seems if you don’t know anything about Star Wars then you won’t enjoy it. James Turner likes it.. kinda... but I can probably just watch him play rather than buy it

Lets get this straight... We aren't mad about EA keeping its deal with Disney and making this game... Ooooohhh no. As a matter of fact, had EA been taking care of their customers these past 6 years this pack may have been a lot more positively received by us. Maybe not overwhelming support... Star Wars is pretty niche after all and not everyone is a fan (I am definitely not) We may have understood their situation and just dealt with it, because we would have known that a better pack was on the horizon, like we have done several times before with packs we didn't really want. How many times has that happened since the Sims 4? How many times do we look to the future of our game just to be disappointed time and time again by EA? Let me put something into perspective, many of us (myself included) have been playing this franchise our WHOLE LIVES. I personally have been playing since the very beginning, my mom got into it first and taught me the ropes when I was 7. We own every single expansion pack across all installments(minus this one). That takes some dedication and love... To be with a franchise through its triumphs and more importantly its losses. We old simmers KNOW what good sims games look like, we lived it EA, and you cannot try to push this pretty drivel on us anymore. It. Wont. Work. I say its high time you find it in yourself to begin listening to your more experienced populace EA, because we know what we want in these games and we know what will make it fun. Our anger is completely justified after being given crap following years and years of dedication, quit trying to hide and take responsibility for the people YOU left behind. We wont wait forever Man I miss Maxis.....

The world is done very well, but almost no one is actually going to purchase this. I was actually quite interested in this pack when they announced it, despite the fact that I can't even stand Star Wars! It just looked like it could be something new and different to spice up the game, kinda in the same vein as Vampires or Realm of Magic (which I enjoyed), and not the usual 'boring' stuff like knitting and laundry which I *really* have no interest in. However, this pack just looks straight-up crap, doesn't it? The fact that it's only a vacation world pretty much renders it worthless straight away, and having all the buildings be just 'something to click on', or acting like little more than 'rabbit holes' seems like an utterly pointless waste of time! There just seems like there's sod all to do there too! I mean, what? Do you go there and just......hang around......click on things.......buy pointless crap......learn to twirl a lighsaber around for literally no reason other than - 'LigHtSAbEr!!!'....? What's the point? Is there any story to uncover or anything?? Is there any conflict between the factions? *Does anything ever happen there?* I can't see why you would ever want to go there! At least Salvadoria had a jungle to explore. What does Batuu have to offer? Nothing, by the looks of it.....

The transitions between locations is that way because that's the way the actual movies transition scenes. As a Star Wars fan I thought it was really cool. But if you don't watch Star Wars you would never know. Honestly you can tell the pack sucked for me if I was excited about the location transitions

To be honest I don't think I would've minded a Star Wars pack if it were like.....more creative. But this just isn't. I don't like that they decided to make it based around Batuu because it limits the creative liberties the team could've taken. I haven't been to Batuu in Disney (yet), but someone I follow on insta goes there all the time and she knew her way around Batuu in the game because its an exact copy of the park. Even the menus at restaurants and stuff are exactly the same as in the park. I feel like that shouldn't happen??? That kind of limits it, like if you've been to the park (or even just seen the park on social media a lot like me) it's not a new experience. It's all just an ad for the park. I would rather have liked them to recreate maybe a planet from one of the early movies or something because it's familiar, but still something they could take liberties with and make more creative.

I'm sorry EA, but it takes more than adding Star Wars to something to make it good.

The pack looks very disappointing - marketing that you actually buy, which is admittedly a novel concept. Those "Windows Movie Maker" transitions, though, mimic the transitions used in the Star Wars films. They're actually there for Star Wars fans - the only people who would even consider buying this pack. That said, I'm a Star Wars fan and won't be buying it.

tbh I find the entire sims 4 experience like walking into a gallery its all full of pretty stuff that you cant interact with, the game is pretty.... sure but it lacks so much gameplay, i find sims 1 and 2 far more entertaining to play than the sims 4, there is no life in this game its full of portals and and dead ends, every time I try playing sims 4 i end up getting bored as i run out of stuff to do or just hit a point that it gets so repetitive i switch it off and play sims 2 or 3. I feel like i am better of sticking to sims 2 and 3 than hoping for the miracle of EA actually making the sim 4 entertaining as a life simulation. starting from babies to elders, and really if they can have bloody transport brooms and now flying ships they can do it to cars same code different model. more and more it jut seems the EA is doing to minimum just to keep sims fans hooked and this advertisement stunt just shows where there priorities are at. so I'm just ganna save my self a hell of a lot of money and forget about this placid game and enjoy my life with sims 2 and sims 3 where i actually spend my time playing rather than yawning at a scream and killing my sim out of pure boredom.

I have been playing The Sims since I was 5 (I am 21 now). I always do my best to be as optimistic as possible about the packs, and I always tend to be on the side of “cautious optimism.” However, this pack was such an immense let down, I haven’t been able to get on the Sims since I FINISHED the pack in less than 8 hours. It sucks because I’m a huge Sims and Star Wars fan, so I was wanting this to be decent so badly. I literally feel so deterred from playing anymore just out of frustration. I feel like I’ve already done everything there is to do, and that when they come out with new packs; they’re so shallow that I can’t enjoy them for more than a week. Anyways, pointless rant over.

If every non SW fan can just understand that we SW fans are probably even more pissed than most of you guys because this is another example of something we have loved for decades being shat on, and like... honestly also watch the og movie baby boo if you like fantasy you'll love it

At least your game pack works. Mine glitches out and anytime I interact with people on Batuu, my game pauses and a big purple dot shows up on my screen and I can’t get out of it. I love this pack so0o0o0o0 much 🤦🏼‍♀️👎🏼

I think this pack is just to show how they can make a world look different. Which doesn't mean much, I think if you could get worlds looking different in Sims 3 it was more of an achievement because it does not have the amount off shells and backdrops that sims 4 has.

Rabbit holes in TS3 were fine because you had one singular loading screen and the entire world was open. I didn't mind sending my sim to a diner and having them disappear into it because I could look around the rest of the world while I waited. Sims outside talked, argued, flirted, joked around together, build relationships that I didn't have anything to do with. There was a story all around you while you waited. And the word wasn't just 4-5 lots. That's why it was okay in TS3 and not TS4

So the sims will always be my favourite game however over the past year it has been harder and harder for me to play now I don’t even play it anymore I may go on once a month and look at things I built over a year ago or sims I’ve made however I just can’t find any desire to play it any more! If anyone asks me what my favourite game is I will always say the sims because it is, but I just can’t play it the way it is now THERE IS NOTHING TO DO!! And believe me I have all the packs apart from the last few just because I feel like I’m wasting all my money on something that is basically useless because I don’t use it any more and that is such a shame I’ve spent 1,000’s of hours in the game but I just can’t do it any more and it breaks my heart because I love it so much!

Glad I have Sims2 . I stopped giving EA money after TS4 Half assed University expansion last year, they didn't even include a Friggin pool table ! EA are crap and just exploit gamers, they recently announced their next expansion won't have the stuff the community asked for but they "so sorry and we understand your frustration" BULLSHIT , 6 years and still a watered down game.

Don't worry about not knowing star wars lore, there's none of it in this pack anyway.

basically with this, and their complete disregard for the mod community, which lets face it; keeps their franchise alive, by breaking all CC windows and doors with their last patch, this game is basically dead. They either need to get onto Sims 5 or shut down the franchise altogether. because this is just become cash grabby and its fucking disgusting.
