Sims 4 still feels dull, the overhaul ai just looks so dumbed down. Sure they updated and added more to emotions but it still doesn't act normal like the old games, I feel like they just pushed this game out too fast. I keep going back to sims 2, so much more emotion in that game.

I have been trying to update my sims game for the past hour in order to access the new skin tones update, but for some reason every time I repair my game or update it , I open up my sims game to see nothing has changed. I have already changed automatic updates to off mode. Anyone happen to know how to help me? I’m desperate 😬😬

Sims 2 is still better in the CAS menu at least on PS2. you could mix and match tops and bottoms and put jackets overtop of the tops instead of in Sims 4 where you can only pick between tops and bottoms, you can no longer mix and match with different under and over clothes to define your style. I wish they would bring it back in Sims 4, there may have been overlay issues but that can easily be fixed with coding that says "if this jacket is paired with this shirt, this jacket goes overtop of this shirt" and they could even code it so certain jackets don't work with certain shirts or the sprite changes to work with the shirt that is underneath it so their isn't wonky overlay errors, its simple, though tedious, but it wouldn't actually take that long for a massive team like them to do, and would ramp up the customization in the game a TON, people could really do their own style, like I wear long sleeved jumpers irl and then a short sleeve jacket that looks more fancy A Wrangler its called, or maybe that's the brand, and then a bow tie around my neck and leggings and boots. I can't do that in the Sims 4 because you can't mix and match tops like before. Also on the Sims 2 PS2 you could also open and close jackets, and do different sleeve cuts, so no sleeve, long, elbow length or T-shirt cuts, some items even had a torso cut so you can have your belly showing on whatever you chose to wear for a jacket. You could flip which wrist/hands bracelets and rings appeared on, and different hairstyles sometimes had built in accessories you could filter through, like bandanas, sunglasses, flowers and bows! Everyone said Sims4 was great, that the CAS was more customizable and such, but compared to SIMS 2 on PS2, for me it really comes up short on customization. I never got the chance to play Sims 2 on PC, so I'm not sure how that is, but the PS2 version, despite slow loading times, was way better in CAS, and that's saying something, considering a PS2 barely had any processing power and memory compared to the PCs we have today, meaning there is NO EXCUSE to why the PC version is so less customizable from the PS2 version, if anything it should be MORE customizable because you can run the sims 4 on a laptop and have it work fine. So better skintones and layered clothes, should be available! If you can make a color picker for painting a cat or dog in the sims 4, why can't you make a color picker or slider for skintones? Like seriously, I bet a modder could use the Pets expansion painter tool and redesign it for skintones EASILY. The solution is in front of their noses.

EA should freaking fire 80% of its staff and then hire all the modders (sp?) who have been listening to us for the past 6 years and give us quality shit for free—not to mention most of the mods dont come with bugs. Like...i just dont get it. WHAT is there problem?! Money?

Ok, so you can add cats,dogs, A WHOLE UNIVERSITY, ROBOTS. But ya cant add more skin tone and hair options,cars,boats,and option to customize newborns wth man???

fr I was so annoyed when I switched from sims 3 on my xbox to sims 4 on pc cuz all the sliders and customizations were gone. I loved being able to customize everything and make the literal perfect image of the sim in my head to come to life (other than designs since I didn't know how to mod especially not on an xbox but I didn't mind) then I played sims 4 and cas was so frustrating heck even now base game cas is extremely weak (not just in skin tones but in the hairstyles, outfits and accessories too it's like a beta test) I rarely ever use anything base game anymore. You'd think after all this time that they would at least improve the first part of the game you're introduced to and the most personalized part but nope we're left high and dry. You know it's bad when I can compare it to the xbox ver, the graphics are better but the game reverted.

I was recently playing with a sim that had one of the darkest skin tones, and they still were looking grey mixed with green in gameplay.

I think the sims should have a colour wheel for everything where you can choose all the colours

I've gone through that heartbreak of losing a best friend too. I just wanted you to know that you will be able to recover. One of the many reasons I prefer the Sims 3, the colours were completely customizable and not just options, and the skin tones were a versatile slider with different undertones

It's sad how game companies refuse to have diverse skin tones.

I've only played sims 1 and sims 4, and not exactly on a high end pc so I obviously haven't had as many issues and disappointments as others. One this that really annoys me is that a lot of colour swatches dont match each other, so I see the appeal of colour wheels. I don't understand why everyone was so keen on getting toddlers though, they are so annoying! It's good to see people being critical of the game though, we put a lot of money into the game so our opinions should be listened to! I like to watch LGR's videos on the sims, as he is always truthful and critical with his reviews.

I’m very excited for Paralives. Unless I absolutely love Paralives enough that I won’t even ever touch the Sims 4, I’ll still play TS4 because I have sunk a lot of money into it and I do still like the game. That being said, I have never and will never throw money at EA for something I don’t want. All I have purchased are things I have actually been interested in.

It would also be nice if they could add some uncommon skin features. Like vitiligo, full-body freckles, and albinism. Yes, I know we have a totally white skin tone, but it’s more of ghostly/undead white, so I don’t count it as an albino skin tone. I don’t think it would be asking for too much. Modders make skin tones like this all the time.

I’m not a programmer, but why can’t they just have a colour picker? Like the wheels in photoshop. It would be way more intuitive than having a set amount of skin colours.

My issues with the Sims 4: Why isn't there at least an even array of skin colors? Why do we get one row of light options that are all the same, and then it gets darker? It's unnecessary. THE SIMS 4 CAME OUT IN 2014! 6 years to address an issue that should never have even had to be an issue! Finally, as always, the prices for dlcs are terrible. Moreso than sims 3 because sims 4 dlcs lack content. I'd have to sell my car to afford *all* of them (I think I read somewhere it was 750 USD?). This is why I don't support The Sims team and hell, even feel it's justified to download dlc from online after buying the base game. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

my heavily modded sims 3 saves that were basically remakes of each other when i was 9-11 are better and more engaging than the sims 4.

The skin tones are coming in November and/or December that update was fixing some hair styles and adding the Hispanic cas and build mode things.

This obviously doesn't excuse for why the skin tones weren't in the game in the first place and I too thought that the last update was the skin tone update but then I reread the article and saw the dates. The skin tones are coming just in a few months. It says this in the second paragraph if any of you are interested or don't believe me.

EA is literally a billion dollar company and they still can’t manage to be more inclusive? They pretend like they don’t milk every of their games till it’s dead, even then they continue to milk for more money. EA is a greedy company. It’s been 6 years since it’s released and it’s the most terrible sims game ever, the only good thing is the cas mod (we STILL don’t have the color wheel) and the building mod. The game doesn’t have any depth, too. It’s just pretty frustrating.

this is the exact reason i deleted sims 4 off my pc. i've had it tbh. Sims 2 and 3 are SO much better in the skintone aspect, expansions, actual gameplay (altho 3 takes forever to load, its worth it). The fact that CC Creators can make AMAZING content to fill the gaps just shows how lazy EA really is. CC creators and modders take time out of their own day to create content that the sims team cannot give us, even though they have EVERY resource to do so. We've repeatedly asked for better babies, skintones, cars, OPEN WORLD and bunk beds. Honestly, play the earlier games. It might not be up to date in nowadays, but they play way better and seriously uphold the lore as well. Sims 4 is a scam and not worth your time AT ALL.
