I've dropped social media from my life years ago after about 15 years of using it at a hardcore level. I used to run 3 pages, got into political arguments pretty much everyday, i was spending most of my free time sniffing other people's shit and not living life. Now it's close to 3 years since i stopped, and i don't use facebook, twitter, instagram, tiktok, snapchat or any other social media for that matter.... The closest thing i do now to a social media post is maybe the occasional WhatsApp status and being active on YouTube. And my YouTube comments get tweeted automatically, which is something i've set up back in the day which i really can't bother to turn off now. And I'm not gonna say some cliche bullshit about the free time i now have to focus on other things in life because that's obvious enough, but the best part of not using social media is the peace of mind of not having to think about trivial shit keeping up with public appearance. Just thinking about it makes me wanna throw up now. It's such a fucking relief to not be bothered by other peoples' lives.
