definitely a very promising start! the customization for characters & builds seems awesome. the next step for the team will be programming how the characters will interact with the world, which i think is going to be the most challenging part. i really hope they work hard and get a lot of support to make it as engaging and thorough as possible. the good thing is that they devs seem passionate about the life sim genre, which gives me hope that they will make the effort when it comes to, you know, the Life Sim part of the game. all those things that we as simmers wish we could do when we play, they get it, and they want to hear it. obviously it will be a challenge for such a small team but i hope their team grows and they succeed at making the game they want.

i find the fact that characters can hum or lean on banisters and that we can have multi-level floors and changeable furniture (the hight/size) is a great improvement from the sims 4 where we don't even have good fantasy hair even tho everything else is colorful.

What they've done with the build capabilities, the options on the simulation characters, I expect the game play to surprise us just as much. 👏👏👏

As a 20+ years player of sims...I'm happy to wait however many years it takes Alex and the rest of their team to release Paralives. We've all been waiting for 6 years for cars, spiral stairs and bunk beds....soooooo.....

i wonder what the facial customization is gonna be like, in the sims 4 i feel like it can be very limited in terms of doing different “styles” of faces i guess for lack of a better word. so i wonder how paralives is gonna do it. if they’ll have presets that you can customize to your liking, and you can customize each face feature individually, or if you just have a few completely different faces to chose from, or something in between.

Me personally, this art style is something I prefer a lot more than the sims. It’s very pretty and not wasting too much time on being hyper realistic and just making the game good. Also you should react to their newer videos on Sebastian and the day/night cucle

Opinion: the graphics absolutely suck for paralives. I’m going to stick to my Sims!

Sims 4 could never been a vanilla Sims 4 player since it got released the game is so empty and boring and pretty made sims don't know anyone or have any substance. Its funny how I needed to buy a expansion pack just to get the hair I naturally have (curly) even tho it's supposed to be a life simulator. I hope this game have more customization like facial and body hair tattoos piercings as well as more curly hair options

Black Desert Online uses a similar character creation. I'm honestly not surprised it's possible, because it's been done before. EA has pulled the wool over people's eyes about what's possible and what's not. It's sad.

Honestly, even if this game ends up stuck in development for a long time, i'm still so incredibly excited for it! Imo it's going to be a strong contender in the life simulation genre, and it's really going to edge out the monopoly the sims franchise has on the genre as a whole. The speed and quality of the games production, as well as the super clear production roadmap and the community input is giving me high hopes - the whole team have demonstrated their ability to work well together and handle constructive criticism, which is essential in general, but doubly so for an indie development team. The game in general seems more.. malleable? is the word? I think? than the sims. everything i've seen so far shows a very intuitive interface and fluid customisability, which already puts it leagues ahead of the current clunky way the sims franchise handles it. I encourage everyone to check out their patreon! Regular updates as well as input on game features and mechanics is more than worth the amount you donate (the name of parafolks and the money system were all chosen and voted for by fans)

This might sound kinda trivial but it'd be nice if the Parafolk had some sort of way to tweak parts of the AI - for example, you could tell them not to use the bathroom sink to wash dishes. It's kind of annoying when my Sims do that.

Also, more generally, tight integration with a scripting language like Lua or Python would be great. That'd make it much easier for players to mod the game and tweak the functionality to their liking. Or even just issue commands to Parafolk via the console: `pf.Alex.actions.flirtWith(pf.Bob)`. Not sure how feasible a clean command-line interface would be but it'd be good for accessibility if Paralives could be controlled entirely from the keyboard

I don't like the way the character looks at all. I hope they improve that because she just doesn't look up to par with the graphics of the stuff around her. She looks like she's separate from her surroundings almost like she's on a green screen. Idk if I'm describing it right. I don't like how she looks like a cartoon and not a person. I however can't wait to see the improvements on the way she looks.
