You're forgetting the game that inspired Cuphead the most, Alien Soldier. Alien Soldier was the first run & gun to have a focus on being a boss rush game with short levels and many bosses (25 to be exact).

Gobstopper can be easily beaten with Roundabout, just go around in circles and he's a free pass. Also, do account for weapon combinations, as those can significantly improve fights if you apply technical skill to the game and what would be the most optimal way of beating the bosses. And finally, use smoke dash for pete's sake man. Makes the game a lot more fun outside of plane stages, in which I recommend twin hearts.

Friend and I were just hanging out and we decided to buy this game. We completed every fight on the hardest difficulty including the devil in 8 hours. Like I’m typing this mere minutes after we just did it.

I must confess I played this game several times, and I still don't know A) Most of the boss names B) What that fucking bee's plane form's pattern was, like seriously, I felt like I was getting really lucky

Just in case you weren't aware, the frogs are a reference to Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter. His "punch throwing" move is a reference to Ryu and Ken's signature move, Hadouken which is also a "punch" or fist-shaped projectile.

Imagine if you can make your Own Boss in Cuphead, that would be cool, Right?

I thought this would mention each boss' primary strategy 😅 But I can think of that. Most of them try to corner the player or force them to mess up. Some of the best examples: Dr. Kahl's Robot: Almost all of the attacks are meant to corner the player, such as the small flying drones that come from the gut, which can corner you if you get caught in a bad spot, the laser from the head, which can pin you down while you wait for it to end, the laser walls, which are pretty self explanatory, the screws and bolts fired from the head once the laser is destroyed, which cover a large part of the screen, the bombs, which, again, can catch players in a bad spot if they aren't destroyed, and both attacks in the final phase. The electrified walls are, again, pretty self explanatory, and the gems have very tight spaces in between, which, combined with the walls, can cause a player to be caught behind the wall or take a hit from the shots to avoid being trapped. Cala Maria: Cala constantly tries to get you either cornered or otherwise unable to avoid a hit. Her pufferfish make everything a very tight squeeze when avoiding attacks, her seahorse makes avoiding attacks difficult, and the turtle covers a large area in projectiles, limiting movement that way. Her homing eel is very difficult to avoid in these tight spaces, as are the ghosts. In the second phase, she uses her petrification to make the player unable to avoid the projectiles from the eels, which cover a very large area and are likely to corner the player. In the third phase, again, she uses her petrification to limit the player's dodging abilities, and the claustrophobic conditions in the cave make it much easier for the spike walls and bubbles to catch the player. That's all I'm going to write because I'm lazy right now.....

I think it’s kind of funny, almost anybody I talk to about sugar land shimmy really doesn’t like it, especially the waffle. I loved that stage and felt like the waffle wasn’t that bad (but the gumball machine, yeah I hate it)

Cuphead also has a lot of influence from Megaman and it has a lot of references to older fighting games (the frogs represent Ryu and Ken, and the charge attack for the peashooter is a hadoken reference for example)
