So get over yourselves, youre not helping anyone by being a$$holes to people who don't want to just eat like an herbivores, we are created as omnivores!

To all the vegans going for her just letting you know you are doing more damage for the cause by spreading shame. We should be encouraging people to do the best they can cause you don’t know their situation whether it’s health (physical/mental), accessibility, costs and lifestyle. We should be celebrating when they reduce meat consumption whether it’s removing animal product entirely or eating a vegan meal once a week. We should be welcoming EVERYONE to be an environmental activist. Remember we don’t want 4 people doing things perfectly but thousands of people doing it imperfectly to see a significant impact.

@Joee003 sorry as well, but you shouldn't have gone in and screamed about vegan hypocrisy when there rarely isn't. Veganism is still and always will be about the animals and the environmental stuff is a benefit. I still think that environmental and agricultural science with an academic approach is useful as you are able to assess a wider area of data objectively and also look at the actual science behind resource efficiency. I also have a masters degree in economics, which gives me more knowledge on trade and how trying to sustain animal agriculture is pretty terrible for the economy. I wasn't vegan before i started my degree btw.

I am pretty sure we could have found some middle ground had we not acted harshly, as I am sure we have more points in common than we think, and we probably both assume things that aren't true about the other. @Studenciak You must have a gut issue which can always be treated with the help of a licensed practitioner. Having to drink bone broth everyday does not heal your gut, because like you said if you don't take it your "gut won't function properly". Changing your diet to require eating one thing does not fix the underlying problems your gut has. Talk to a doctor that deals with the gut on what you can do. @gojiman is a YouTuber that explains that problems with your gut can be treated through the necessary doctors or nutritionists. People who have gut issues have a disbiosis in their gut flora, meaning the bacteria are not balanced which can cause IBS, bloating and even mental health issues. Knowing that your gut has thousands of bacteria, some people who suffer from gut issues do not have the proper balance of bacteria to create a good gut flora.

I think it's more than she's very acutely aware of the damage that animal agriculture does to the environment (she even says she was vegan in the past) but started eating animal products again because she likes the taste. Also that animal agriculture victimizes humans as well, especially POC, and she claims to be an intersectional activist. I know that nobody's perfect and we shouldn't hold people to rigorous standards when they're trying to do good, but I do think she could maybe align her actions and morals a little more, especially since she is such a public activist.

dominique evans I don’t think you’re hearing what’s being said and discovered. You’re more than welcome to find scholarly sources on the damage animal products do to us and our environment. It’s important to raise awareness on this and steer away from a primarily animal based diet and more of a primarily plant based diet. I know that some people cannot go full plant based but as long as they do their best, I support their decision 🤷‍♀️ no hate but I do worry that people don’t understand the damage caused by animal products

@Catarina Gomes Do you know about bio-intensive farming? Very little land used for it, at a human scale. If this is about personal choice, why not go traditional! but I thought this was about the environment. In which case, what does it matter if organic farming produces less crops? It actually protects the soil and makes it more sustainable, which is another argument in favour.

Joee003 Let’s not act like organic farming doesn’t have its own cons (like the fact you have to use more land to yield less crops) and that people shouldn’t be allowed to choose which one they prefer based on their ethics. Also, not everyone can afford organic farming.

@Catarina Gomes Oh, well tbh I don't know much about meat farming from the inside, so I couldn't tell you about this. But I can say confidently that organic meats are only fed organic vegetables and grains, which prevents all the negative sides of traditional crop farming that I mentionned before!

But traditional agriculture and overexploitation has lead to a massive drop in insect populations due te the use of pesticides, which has in turn led to a tragic drop in bird populations. It has also greatly impoverished the land, so in turn we need more chemical products to grow crops, which repeats the whole cycle. Also all these chemicals get into the water ways and mess up even more environments. To me loss of biodiversity is a tragedy, and that is why I believe in organic farming above all.

It sounds like her diet is about 90% plant based according to the video. I think it's important that we not push purity so hard that it discourages people from even trying to get closer to vegan. A 90% plant based diet is 90% better for the environment. That's amazing!

@First Last hi! First I want to say that there is no ethical murder. Murder is murder. Secondly, we are not talking about ethics here, we are saying that the consumption of meat and dairy products is bad for the environment. It is the leading cause of deforestation of the Amazon for example. The consumption of animal products pollutes more that all the transport systems combined. After looking at the data, if you say you care about the environment you have to go vegan.
