'Strange video game displays' ... Funny how that turned out with that released program that let's you dock to the ISS exactly like astronauts do. The actual, real ISS docking thing is a video game in terms of display and control.

"The reverence and understanding of both the miniscule nature of being a human in the enormity of the universe, but also the enormity of being able to see it in that way." With the things Hadfield has experienced, and his wonderful way with words, I am surprised that people don't give him more attention. That man is like a poet, without even having to try.

1:22 he is forgetting about relative velocity, who said the astronauts were stationary ? they can't be, otherwise they would fall to earth.

Interesting. Makes sense. Is the scene realistic then? Why would the satellite be orbiting faster than them? Genuinely asking, I'm no expert.

Was really hoping to see a reaction to the Docking scene on interstellar or even the section of the movie on the water planet. I thought it was really neat how they included the ticking in the background every 1.25 secs to simulate a day on earth. Would of been cool to get his reaction on those scenes.

If gravity has an affect on space/matter (pulls mass towards each other) and we know it has an affect on time (time dilation, clocks being auto-corrected on gps satellites) then if we were outside our dimesions of 3d i.e X, Y and Z and could manipulate time or go whenever we want would it therefore follow that gravity doesn't have the same affect on us when we can perceive 4 dimesions?

Speed is relative, if that debris was moving in the same direction of the space station it would make sense that they could pass at hundreds of miles an hour in relation to them instead of thousands. Also i thought Sandra Bullock flies away because of Centripetal force since the thing she was connected to was spinning. Not a huge fan of Gravity but he’s looking at these things too off the cuff rather than in context/depth which is the entire reason he’s doing this and not some bonehead like me.

A little curiosity, though. He says Arthur C. Clarke's book was beautifully portrayed by Kubrick. Actually, the book and the movie are pieces of one single thing. Arthur and Stanley did both sort of together, it's not based on the book. In fact, though they did it simultaneously, the book actually came out one year after the movie.

Hearing things on the Moon is not wrong. If a bullet hit the ground next to you, the vibration of the impact would go through the ground and your suit and you would be able to hear it. Just because there is no air, it doesn't mean that it's completely silent. It would be quieter than normal but you could still hear something.
